Akashi Sudo (須藤 亜我志 Sudō Akashi) was a tennis coach. He was stabbed to death by Sakura Toyama who was angry at him for flirting with both her and her friends Kome Kagawa and Yuri Nagasaki. He left a dying message but as a landslide later destroyed the house and killed all the suspects, the case remained forever unsolved.
While the case was never officially solved, Kindaichi figured out the truth in Young Kindaichi's Nightmare.

- The name Akashi means "second, Asia" (亜) (a), "me" (我) (ka), and "will, purpose" (志) (shi).
- Akashi's surname Sudo means "ought, by all means, necessarily" (須) (su) and "wisteria" (藤) (to/do).
