Ayane Tanise (谷瀬 あやね (たにせ あやね) Tanise Ayane) is a former researcher at Hitokui Laboratory. She used to be a researcher at a research institute, and she looks a lot different now than she used to. She currently runs a company that conducts research on the "Midorikawa Factor", but he seems to be in debt. Early in the story, she burns down the only suspension bridge leading to the village.
