Challenge from the Gentleman Thief is 56th case in Anime Kindaichi Case File : 1997 Series.

Story

It is the morning of the third day after Tokitsugu Fujita's masterpiece, "The House of the Rising Sun," was targeted by Gentleman Thief. Kindaichi and Miyuki are heading to Fujita's villa after receiving a request for cooperation from Kenmochi. However, when Kindaichi arrived, the owner, Fujita, was hit by someone with a glass ashtray and was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance.

Was it the Gentleman Thief who seriously injured Fujita? How will the confrontation between Kindaichi and Gentleman Thief go?

Manga to Anime Differences

• The settings other than the characters name have changed significantly between the original and the anime version.
• Saki and Tadano do not appear.
• The reason Kindaichi came to the Fujita residence is different.
• Since Kindaichi did not accept Fujita's request, the request fee was cut. In the first place, Kindaichi and Miyuki did not meet Fujita because they came to the Fujita residence after Fujita was attacked by the criminal and taken by ambulance.
