Dead Person's Checkmate is 6th case in Kindaichi Case Files : Akechi Case Files. Created by Seimaru Amagi as Author and Fumiya Sato as Mangaka.

Story[]

Kindaichi and Kenmochi were playing shogi for lunch in the break room of the Metropolitan Police Department. When Kenmochi was about to make a move after a long thought, Akechi interrupted and sent advice to Kenmochi in the term "chess" for some reason.

This led to an argument between Kindaichi and Akechi, and when Kindaichi asked if he knew anything about chess, Akechi said that he knew both the wonders and horrors of chess. Akechi then begins to talk about a chess-related incident that happened three years ago when he was a trainee at the Los Angeles Police Department.
