French Silver Coin Murder Case is 19th case in anime Kindaichi Case Files : 1997 Series.
Story[]
Masumi Takamori, a classmate of Kindaichi's during their grade school years, runs into Kindaichi while dealing with some trouble of her own, and she hands him two tickets for her upcoming fashion show in the process of ending their conversation in a hurry. Kindaichi, with Miyuki in tow, attend the fashion show that's set to take place in the French manor hotel in Nagano prefecture with the tickets Masumi gives them, all while a serial murder case that has been already ongoing even as Masumi was talking to Kindaichi is also carried over at said fashion show.

Manga to Anime Differences[]
- Hiroshi refuses to rape Masumi, threatening to raise her to 10 million if she refuses.
- The reunion place of Kindaichi and Masumi is changed to inside the department store. After the reunion, Kindaichi does not come to Masumi's apartment.
- Maigret and Inspector Nagashima do not appear. Therefore, Kagitani explained about the burial silver coin.
- Kenmochi has not gone to Kyoto and has his subordinates go to pick up the floppy.
- When Kindaichi called Masumi to explain the Inukai killing trick, in the original, the door plate was discolored by attaching it to the aquarium, but in the anime version, it is discolored by licking it.
- After the fashion show was over, Yurie didn't return to her room.
- Since Hajime and Miyuki are underage, they drink juice at the toast on the eve of the festival. Also, in the scene where Romanée-Conti notices cheap wine, a male customer notices the taste of wine and complains to Yuge.
- The production when uncovering the true culprit is changed from "lighting up with a flashlight" to "ripping off the curtain of the hospital room".
- Regarding the reason why Naoko did not lock her room, the counterargument against the explanation that ``I just forgot to lock it'' is a psychological argument that ``it is too careless for a person who was about to be killed once to forget to lock it''. Changed from something like "I didn't even take out the key" to something more direct.
- Suzy doesn't want to kill Naoko.
- Masumi and Naoko's "spiritual twins" have been replaced with "the way they live is too similar".
- Masumi's indictment changed.
