Fukashi Nakagami (中神 深志 (なかがみ ふかし) Nakagami Fukashi) is the vice-chief of Hitokui Laboratory.

He was abandoned by his parents at an early age and was raised in an institution. Invited by Professor Midorikawa, who came to volunteer when he was in junior high school, he began to come and go at the Nikui Research Institute. It was around this time that he also met Mayu and acted as her playmate. After that, he longed for a professor and started working at a research institute.
However, the professor is killed by Wanibe and Makine, who were aiming for the "Midorikawa factor", and Nakagami, who learned all about it from Mayu's blog, tries to take revenge on her behalf.
Wanibe's murder was based on a remote-controlled trick that doubled as an alibi, but it was a method that left doubts as to whether it would be possible to kill him for sure. However, as a result, the Wanibe killing went well, and Tanize burned down the suspension bridge the day before, so he decided to carry out the plan (or rather, he couldn't refuse later).
He also killed Zaizen, and also killed him because the PHS used for the trick at that time was discovered and extorted by Zaizen. When everyone was gathered to tell the truth, he tried to poison Tanise, who was the last target, but Kindaichi used it in reverse and pointed out that he was the culprit.
Although he persisted, he eventually admitted his guilt and revealed that he had taken revenge on Mayu's behalf. His motive is "revenge" for his former teacher, the professor. It leaves a slightly different aftertaste.
Personality[]
He has a gentle personality and is somewhat timid due to his lanky build. After the second incident, he was attacked by someone and had the key to Mayu's laboratory stolen.
