Gunji Kajima (梶間 軍治 Kajima Gunji) is An old man who works as a building manager at Shinnokura Academy.

He has been a caretaker since before the building became Shinokura Academy (40 years ago). He still believes in a certain legend that has been handed down in the school for a long time, and he told them about the origin of hanging school.
When Shinokura Gakuen was a prison, his family (probably his older brother in terms of age), who was a BC class war criminal, and Asano's grandfather committed suicide by hanging themselves. For some reason, Fukamachi's paintings are very important to him, and he even puts an alarm on them so that someone won't play a prank on them. Kindaichi also wondered about this, but the reason was not revealed until the end.
