Jim Chipper is the victim in Ghost Hotel Murder Case.

He has a criminal record for murder, and before the case, he committed a bank robbery, and it seems that he intends to destroy the evidence by having his accomplice take away the stolen money that he hid in the hotel.
Not much is known what happened in the past, but he has racist attitude towards East Asians by calling them "yellow people who only think about making money" (there is even a possibility that he just uttered it), and he attacked Akechi, who was about to set up an eavesdropping device, and yelled at him. He was found dead in an empty hotel room, covered in blood, and then disappeared during a momentary power outage.
