Kohei Himura is an orthopaedic surgeon and one of the victims in Treasure Island Murder Case. He's constantly accused of being the culprit due to the fact that he's a surgeon and could possibly give the wrong death time estimation by Hisayoshi Yaogi and Ryuzo Yasojima. He's the third victim to die.
Appearance[]
Himura is a man likely to be in his late twenties or early thirties. He has a medium long black middle parted hair. He wears a a white suit jacket and pants, yellow shirt and a black tie. In the manga, he later wears a short sleeved shirt and white pants after the first day.
Personality[]
Himura is initally portrayed as a calm man with experience of being a former coroner and currently a surgeon, as he doesn't step back when examining Daisuke Mimasaka. He was slowly turned hostile and downright delusional after being accused of being the culprit by Chris Einstein due to the fact that he's the one who performed the autopsy and could possibly gives the wrong death time estimate and the only person who doesn't have solid alibi.
When he's accused of being the culprit of Ryuzo Yasojima's murder, he declares that he doesn't trust anyone and grabbing a rifle for his own protection. After that, he witnessed a scene where the identity of the criminal could be seen at a glance, and Kindaichi said on the phone, "I'm going to kill the criminal," and "I saw something that I could tell at a glance that he was the criminal." After saying that, he is killed by the culprit who appears to keep his mouth shut.
When Kakimoto was murdered, even if it wasn't enough to clear Yaogi's suspicions, Kindaichi has a certain amount of trust, probably because he defended himself and proved that he didn't make a false appraisal. (The fact that the person who called just before he was killed was Kindaichi speaks to that.)
Relationships[]
Himura's opinion on Kindaichi is mostly neutral but Kindaichi is the last person he ever talks to before his death and after he threatened to kill anyone who approached his cabin, showing while he still views the others as untrustworthy, he still has some trust on Kindaichi.
