Kyoko Kaya (茅 杏子 (かや きょうこ) Kaya Kyōko) is a police detective and one of the participants in Treasure Island Murder Case. In her debut case, she actually investigating Eisaku Iwata for murder in an insurance fraud.
Appearance[]
A brown-haired beauty with an adult charm. She seems to be good at her color scheme that makes use of her beauty, and even in the work she approached Kindaichi naked in the open-air bath and made him crazy.
History[]
A female detective belonging to the Criminal Division of the Metropolitan Police Department, with the rank of Inspector. She specializes in undercover investigations. Her age is estimated to be in her early 30s, but her profile (her age, height, weight, family structure, etc.) is completely confidential due to confidentiality.
It is known that her grandfather is British. In other words, she is a British quarter. She graduated from Ochanomizu University and is fluent in English and German. She also seems to enjoy Japanese dance and tea ceremony.
The Mysterious Box[]
The mysterious "box" that she always carries with her is indispensable when talking about her . Even when she's taking a bath, she doesn't let go of it while she's investigating the case, but its contents are still shrouded in mystery. It seems that the contents of the box are some kind of creature, and sometimes it makes a noise and wriggles inside.
She dotes on the contents of the box, calling it " this child ", and most of all, she hates having others touch the box. Once when someone else tried to touch it, she said, " Don't touch this girl with your dirty hands! " .
However, if she recognizes the person, she will sometimes let them touch the box on the condition that she gently opens it (although she stubbornly refuses to show the contents). The author, Mr. Sato, speculates that ``the contents might be a monitor lizard in the Sahara Desert,'' but since Mr. Kanari asserts that ``it is a trade secret, '' it remains a mystery . Therefore, among fans, it is recognized as a big mystery that is as big as the mystery surrounding Takato Yoichi 's biological father.
Personality[]
Kyoko Kaya is an intelligent, capable yet eccentric police detective. She has a great knowledge about forensic science and it helps Kindaichi in proving Kohei Himura's time of death. Her eccentricities comes from the fact that she always bring a wooden box everywhere and refuse to tell the content inside of it.
