Manga/Anime differences[]
- The opening scene of the commendation from the Superintendent General was cut.
- Changed the number of trains at Shikotsugahara station from 1 every 3 days to 1 every 2 days.
- The location of the first incident, the compartment, was changed from Room 3 to Room 5.
- The scene of the karakuri box with twisted marionettes appears as a flashback on the train.
- The scene where Nagasaki welcomes the party is cut. In addition, the scene where Nagasaki had a marionette similar to Chikamiya and the setting that he was a former doctor were also cut.
- The scene where Akechi tells Kindaichi about the members of the magic troupe has been changed to inside the hotel.
- When Miyuki was sexually harassed by Kindaichi in the hotel, Miyuki didn't leave.
- Kindaichi was rescued because he could not escape from the bottomless swamp on his own.
- The following two points have been changed regarding the details of Reiko Chikamiya's fall death.
- Regarding the nail on the board that came off, in the original, "the nail was new", but in the anime, "the nail was loosened".
- As for the rose that was on the stage when she fell, in the original, there was a white rose, which was dyed red with her blood, whereas in the anime it was originally a red rose.
- One of the inspections during the incident that caused Akechi and Chikamiya to get to know each other is cut. Along with that, the reason why Akechi came to her magic show was the already mentioned simple reason of "because he was a fan of magic".
- In the original, he noticed that the boy was screaming when he killed Yumi, and as a result, Kindaichi and his friends rushed over, but in the anime, Kindaichi and his friends heard Yumi's screams directly, so they rushed to the front of the room.
- The explanation about carrying Yamagami's head in a shoulder bag has been cut. However, the scene where the shoulder bag is fumbled in front of the sword remains unchanged.
- When Takato took off his glasses, he trampled them in the original, but changed them to roses in the anime. Also, in the anime, the moment Takato admits to the crime, his voice changes completely and his tone becomes lower.
- In the original, Sakonji's show was on July 17th, but it was changed to February 1st due to the timing of the broadcast.
- Zanma and Sakuraba doesn't appear in Sakonji's show after the incident.
