  • Kaoruko Hoshino did not appear, and her role was taken over by Yuichi Shindo.
  • The scene where Hajime rescued Mikoto from danger was omitted.
  • Changed the relationship between the culprit and Morihiko Naguni.
  • Changed the cause of death of Morihiko Naguni to illness.
  • The victims' hearts weren't cut out.
  • Kaneshiro's first name was added in the anime.
  • Yuichi Shindo and Ken'ya Miyagaki weren't killed but were incarcerated by the police.
  • The pistol that the culprit picked up was hidden in a plant pot. In the novel, it was from a police officer when an earthquake occurred.
  • Hajime and others didn't go to Akechi's apartment after the end of the case.
