Masumi Takamori (高森 ますみ (たかもり ますみ) Takamori Masumi) is a top brand model for Kimisawa who was forced in French Silver Coin Murder Case to kill Yosuke Inukai and Mitsuhiko Rokujo after Naoko Torimaru told her to do so because she saw Takamori kill Hiroshi. She was not charged for her crimes, since she was still a minor and because she was forced to do them. She used to be in the same school as Hajime Kindaichi and Miyuki Nanase, but she had to change schools.

She is one of Hajime's childhood friends, and they spent their elementary school days together. Like Miyuki, she is one of the very person who calls Kindaichi "Hajime-chan". According to Miyuki, she is Hajime-chan's first love. Kindaichi say that she was tall when she was in elementary school . However, she is too skinny, too energetic, and a self-willed tomboy, and it seems that she never imagined that she would become a model.
Her mother left when she was a child, and her father also passed away after that. Because she was passed around by relatives, she was rough around the time she was in the third year of middle school. She was picked up by Kimisawa as a model and has been rehabilitated, but when she returned home after breaking up once at the beginning, she was smoking, and it seems that she has not completely gotten rid of her bad habit.
She was threatened and almost raped by Hiroshi, who was a bad friend at the time, and killed him while resisting. It ends up being investigated for various suspicious actions.
Also, when she killed Hiroshi, he was seen by the "Burial Silver Coin" and was made to play a part in the murders of Naoko Torimaru (Mitsuhiko Rokujo was the one who actually died) and Yosuke Inukai.
In the end, after being sniffed with sleeping pills, she was thrown into a closed room with the corpse of Sayoko Kiriyama with a gun in her hand, and was stepped into by people including Kindaichi.
Masumi, who fell into a state of panic under the situation of the crowd, shot Kimisawa, who was present, thinking, "It was Yurie who made me kill myself," and was arrested. On the surface, she insisted that she didn't need to rely on Hajime-chan anymore, but in her heart, she desperately wanted help. Since modeling is not a job that can be done for a long time, it seems that she is also studying design recently.

Hajime Kindaichi: Having known both him and Miyuki since elementary school, she is the only character besides Miyuki to call him, "Hajime-chan". She has feelings for Kindaichi that survived to their high school years, and this was reciprocated by Kindaichi back then. During the case, Miyuki teased Kindaichi that Masumi was his first love.
