Evidence/Clues
- Gentleman Thief's sudden/unnatural change of modus operandi. From simply stealing famous paintings with a hilarious modification to the painting's model to burn down a tree, cutting a girl's hair and killing people.
- The broken glass pane. Hajime concludes that the thief couldn't possibly enter from the outside and states it's only a trick to make an illusion that the thief enters from the outside and because the thief himself always inside the house and couldn't escape.
- The wet floor under the frame of the stolen painting with Satomi Kaizu as it's model. Implying that the "Thief" kills Kaizu first even though the thief's target is only famous paintings.
- Poirot's hatred for lavender scent.
- Some of the paintings are duplicates.
- Apparently only two of the thief's calling card are real.
- The Southern Cross in the painting, which isn't possible to be seen in Aomori.
It is later revealed that there's two Gentleman Thief. The real Gentleman Thief is actually Maki Daigo. The thief has "borrowed" her face and name. She hid the stolen painting in a duplicate in order to keep it until the situation is safe enough. She explain to Hajime, Miyuki and Kenmochi that she was actually being impersonated by someone and wants to know who it is while try to steal My Beloved Daughter, only ever sent two calling cards, and never sent said painting to the international painting exhibition. She also added some tricks to her card just in case if an impersonator using her name.
The fake Gentleman Thief is Sakura Gamo, or Sakura Izumi. The murder of her father is actually happened in the garage of the main house, and not at the Atelier. Since Gozo Gamo's eyes has been destroyed, he relies on the scent of lavender to know his location. in reality she put a fragrance bag in order to confuse him of his kidnapping location, thus making her perfect alibi. Hajime finds out about this after seeing Poirot barking at his bag that's stuck while it's still in the limousine.
She explains to all of them that Gozo Gamo is not her father, instead the man he's forced to make the paintings that's supposedly his, Nobuhiko Izumi. Gamo claims that he created My Beloved Daughter only by imagining his daughter that have long been separated, but the painting was actually made with Sakura as the model in front of the real painter. Satomi Kaizu is also guilty by conspire along with him by drugged Nobuhiko Izumi and sent him to Hateruma hospital.

Trivia[]
- Although the case is set in Aomori Prefecture, Kotaro Tawarada didn't appear. It's likely because of the type of case where his division is not to handle heist or theft cases, (as the thief is in the charge of the Investigation Division 3).
