Otoya Usami is a member of the All Japan Fencing Training Camp. He's true culprit of Ghost Swordman Murder Case. Tojo was a high school classmate before joining All Japan Fencing Training Camp. Usami continued to take the top spot in both sports and studies until middle school, but because of Tojo in high school, he was always second in both study and sports. Also, Tojo was a genius who could do anything without effort, and Usami's pride was shredded because he couldn't win with efforts alone.
Appearance[]
Otoya Usami has a similar appearance with Seiji Hazawa from Murder by Gentleman Thief with having a similar hairstyle. His skin tone is considerably darker than in the manga.
Personality[]
He is the strongest member of the training camp and has won the university championship two years in a row. He has burns on his hands, but he doesn't say why he was burned. Shortly before his arrest, Akechi told Usami that he had more talent with the sword than Toujou and that he could have kept his pride in fencing. However, Usami retorted that even if Akechi was right, in the future he could have his pride hurt by Akechi, not by Toujou. Usami's final advice remains in Akechi's heart, and he quits fencing.
Despite his claim to always be inferior to Toujou, coach Sakurada tells him that their differences in skill is obvious, and Toujou couldn't get ahead of him in at least ten years.
