This article contains plot details about an upcoming episode.

Patricia O'Brien, or more commonly called Pat, is Kengo Akechi's partner and love interest from the United States of America, of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

Pat is a detective in charge of Funaki's murder in Dead Person's Checkmate and asks Akechi, who is on vacation, to cooperate with the investigation.

She is reasonably familiar with Japan and realizes that it will be "gold" from the "upside-down pawn" dying message left by Funaki. In addition, perhaps because she knows Japanese characters to some extent, she can even write the kanji for "金". Kaneda was suspected of being the main suspect in the case, but Akechi asked him to investigate Goldman's surroundings and cooperate with him.

In the original work, she rushed to the scene after the incident, but in the anime, she came on vacation privately with Akechi's support. As a result, she also happens to be involved in the incident, and is in the process of investigating with Akechi.

In Young Boy's Retaliation, not long after Akechi has returned to Japan, she's noticably has a different attitude of not being as cheerful as her previous appearances.
