Shiro Munakata (宗像 志郎 Munakata Shirō) was an archaeologist, the husband of Kyoko Munakata and the father of Satsuki Munakata who was obsessed with the Demon God Artifacts and searched for them for decades, which ultimately costed him his life when he died in a landslide during one of his excavations. His death occurred one year before Demon God Site Murder Case.
Twenty years before the case, he fell in love with the servant named Yayoi Muranishi and cheated on his wife with her, causing Yayoi to become pregnant. When Yayoi accidentally killed Kyoko during a dispute, he helped her bury the body and he continued to live with her until his death.
