Snow Yaksha Legend Murder Case, alternatively titled Death TV, is third case in Kindaichi Case Files - File Series.
Story[]
Hajime Kindaichi is working a part time job as an assistant to a TV station for the filming of a shock show. They have invited celebrities to Segori Village and are planning to scare them by playing pranks on them such as fake deaths. However, a threatening letter arrives and soon, a real murder occurs broadcasted in front of everyone.
As Hajime is trying to solve the case, he also has to deal with the hostility of police superintendent Kengo Akechi, who challenge him to solve the case in an analysis duel.

Cases[]
First Case[]
As part of the shock show, the crew hides in the main building of Issei Himuro's villa and pranks actress Rie Kano who's sleeping on the annex. Timekeeper Marina Ayatsuji is ordered by director Masashi Hiruta to go to the annex building using her van, with roughly 20 minutes travel time. While pranking Kano, Kindaichi and police superintendent Kengo Akechi sees a mysterious figure wearing the Snow Yaksha costume, holding an axe. When it is confirmed that it isn't part of the original scenario, the crew could only hopelessly watch as the Snow Yaksha beats Kano with the axe, killing her.
Second Case[]
Michio Akashi, the show's cameraman, who's been missing since the first murder is found accidentally by Ayatsuji who found his dead body hidden inside a snowman near the villa's main entrance while wanting to get something from her van. Akashi was killed by beating to death and being dead for around 12 hours, 6 hours before Kano's murder. He's holding a small pack of dry leaves.

- This case marks the first time the culprit is arrested after the revelation.
