Soichi Kurata (倉田 壮一) is a university student and one of the victims in Broken Heart Lake Legend Murder Case. He becomes the first victim, and immediately after the news of Jason's escape from prison, he is crushed in the head with an axe by Jason while standing in the woods, and his face is crushed.
His corpse is placed on a tree, crows cling to it, and when Itsuki kicks the tree to drive the crows away, the corpse falls to the ground. He turned a pleasant breakfast into a morning of terror.

Because he killed early during the case, not much is fully known of Kurata's personality, other than he's implied to be a pervert and greedy.
