- Deleted a scene involved the dismemberment of Ryuzo Yasojima's corpse.
- Kindaichi's father does not appear.
- The exam scene was cut. Therefore, the only time Miyuki meets Chris is when she is on her ship.
- In the scene of the geyser, Midori doesn't appear to help, and Hajime evades by himself just in the nick of time.
- Changed Himura's method of killing from indoor beating to outdoor shooting. The time of day when he was killed has also been changed from night to day..
- Koichiro's age changed from 13 to 15.
- Kenmochi does not appear in the epilogue.
- Koichiro's uncle does not appear. The story involves it is also cut.
