Will O' Wisp Island Murder Case is fourth case in Kindaichi Case Files - Light Novel Series.
In Japanese, this case called 鬼火島殺人事件 (Onibi-jima Satsujin Jiken).
Story[]
Hajime and Miyuki come to work part-time at the Fudo Hippocratic Seminar (FHS) held for students aiming to enter medical school on Shiranui Island, a small island off the coast of Minamiboso.
The island, which used to be a sanatorium and houses the Eiko Dormitory, is called Onibi Island, and it is said that ghosts can be seen. The next day, the students Kindaichi and others met were all peculiar people.
In the midst of this, Kindaichi participates in the "Eiko Dormitory's annual test of courage." At midnight, Hajime peers into the room through the keyhole of the Crape Myrtle Room and sees one of the students, Keiichi Morimura, being hanged.
However, when he unlocked it and went inside, not only the criminal but also the corpse suddenly disappeared. That was exactly the beginning of a serial murder case that was likened to the work of the ghost story "Devil at Midnight" passed down in "Eiko Dormitory".

The culprit is Makio Shiina. It is revealed that Makio has faked his death. The motive is to get revenge to both Keiichi Morimura and Kentaro Kato for bullying Kuniaki Ebisawa.
