History[]

The first appearance is "Magical Express Murder Case " and the true culprit of the same case. Initially, he was the manager of the illusionist troupe "Illusionary Magician" and played a timid young man wearing glasses, but when Kindaichi discovered the truth, he removed his glasses and revealed his ruthless true nature.

Personality[]

Takato has a thin and light build. He has slanting eyes and a malicious smile. A twisted, cold-hearted killer, he enjoys enticing people into becoming murderers. He then uses them as his 'puppets' to carry out his murder plans, which he considers as masterpieces of art, and kills them when they make mistakes.

One day, when he learned of his mother's death, he lost sight of his purpose when he was training overseas in order to be recognized as a first-class magician as well as a son by his long-lost mother. Later, when he saw the magic of her mother's disciples, he realized that it was a plagiarism of the magic he made, and he was convinced of the truth that his mother was killed by them. He vows to take revenge on the disciples who killed his mother, but he planned an art crime by involving many spectators and the police, with the motive that "just killing is boring" .

In the same incident, he killed three of the four targets, but without killing the remaining one, Kindaichi and others uncovered the truth, leaving behind meaningful words and being arrested. The reason why he didn't try to kill the last person by force is that the "magic to escape from the burning rock" written at the end of the trick notebook he stole from Chikamiya was a death trap that was put in place as a punishment for stealing. It was because he knew that the magician who performed it would surely die while he was being taken away.

As planned, the last target showed the above-mentioned escape magic as if it were his own, so he was burned alive while being engulfed in flames. In this way, Takato completed his revenge in the form of "giving the final bird to his mother ." Immediately after that, he escaped from the Asahikawa detention cell and disappeared.

After escaping from prison, he calls himself a "criminal artist", and as a crime (murder) coordinator (planner), he lends a hand to other people's crimes *1 In order to realize art crimes , he has defeated himself in front of Kindaichi many times. Appears without In that case, in order to ensure that Kindaichi is involved, the pattern is to use Kindaichi himself and the people around Kindaichi to make him come to the scene.

Relationships[]

Reiko Chikamiya[]

His mother, who was a famous magician. Takato first saw her performing in London, and was inspired to become a magician himself. On their first and last meeting, the young Takato was practicing magic at the park when Reiko saw him. She promised that she would give Takato her notebook of magic tricks. Ever since then, Takato worked hard to become a great magician. Years later, he came to know that Reiko was his mother. He then heard about her sudden death, and soon found out that she was murdered. His mother's murder triggered Takato to become the killer he is today.

Hajime Kindaichi[]

Takato considers himself to be the 'evil twin' of Hajime. He says they are like parallel lines. Takato is aware of Hajime's intelligence and deductive abilities, and had even asked for his help once (Rosenkreuz Mansion Murder Case).

Kengo Akechi[]

Akechi was a fan of his mother, Reiko Chikamiya, and he was also close with her. And in "Magical Express", the reason why he was involved in this incident was to question her death and to pursue the truth, so he was involved in the incident caused by her son Takato. In addition, he is from Shuo High School, the high school that Takato attended, and although he has not been in school for a long time, he is a senior at Takato's alma mater. And when Takato was in school, he visited the school as an OB and had a near miss with him there. After that, he met him again in an unexpected way at the training place, and in a sense, he has a deeper connection with him than Kindaichi. In addition, there are several works that depict Takato before he works as a puppeteer of Hell, and Akechi appears in all of them.

Takato's Adoptive Father[]

When he came to his senses, he was living with Takato in England. He was a strict man who sought "perfection" for himself and others, and his occupation was a trading company man (sometimes stated as "manager"). Although he had no connection with his family's services, when Reiko Chikamiya performed in England, he went out of his way to take Takato to see him, so it seems that he wasn't completely unsympathetic.

Since he calls Reiko Chikamiya "Reiko", it seems that he had a close relationship with her, but the details are unknown. He told Takato, who was a young boy, that "her mother died when he was little,'' but when he got drunk, he told Takato, "You have a half-sister.'.

Before Takato entered high school, he returned to Japan. Therefore, Takato enrolls in the private Shuo High School. However, he had not left his house in England (Chikamiya's trick notes had been sent to his house in England), so he may have planned to return to England again.

It seems that he knows something about Takato's biological father, and whenever an incident occurs around Takato, he suspects Takato's involvement. He died six years ago (it happened when Takato was 17 years old), and Takato chose to go to Italy to practice magic. Takato said that his home was like a prison, and he didn't like his adoptive father because he was sometimes treated in an abusive way, such as throwing a mug when he was drunk, but demands perfectionism. Also, in his recollections, he showed a solemn expression in front of his grave, so he may have had some thoughts about his death as someone who had raised him in his own way.

Takato's Biological Father[]

The person that Takato pursues his own roots, and what is known at the moment is as follows.

  • He is a person who gave birth to two children ( Takato and Giselle ) from two women, Reiko Chikamiya and Renka Misaki.
  • He owned a number of huge mansions, such as the Rose Cross Mansion and the Western Mansion in Yamanaka, as well as others. Judging from the fact that he made large-scale renovations to many buildings here and there, he was a considerable wealthy man (one of the remodeled buildings is said to be "renovated after 1982" by Akechi, based on a certain fact).

It has been revealed that Takato's foster father called this person "that devil" and harbored extraordinary disgust and awe, and at least he didn't seem to have a decent personality. In addition, Takato himself recalls that his involvement in the case was "destined" , so there is a high possibility that he is some kind of criminal.

Takato doesn't look much like Chikamiya except for his magic skills, and it can be said that almost everything other than magic skills is similar to his biological father. However, considering the aforementioned death trap, Chikamiya was definitely a difficult person to deal with because of being Takato's mother. In addition, regarding the large-scale trick used in a certain incident involving Kindaichi and Akechi, he said that the person who was said to have prepared it as if he were saying, "Use it as a stage setting for a perfect crime." He speculates that he is someone with a similar temperament, and this also probably refers to Takato's biological father.

Natasha[]

A foreign woman who seems to be the housekeeper of the Takato residence in his high school years. Appeared in Young Takato Case File. Takato's foster father was often away from his house, so while he was away, she taught piano to Takato when he was a boy. Behind her gentle smile, she may be more than just a housekeeper, as she gives her meaningful look to Takato's back as she talks about a murder at school. She hasn't had a turn since her first appearance, and it's not clear where she is now and what she's doing.

Raimu Yuzuki[]

Takato's temporary collaborator and she helped him escape. She asks for Takato's cooperation as a helper in a code game in which she bets on the right to inherit a huge amount of inheritance from a famous mystery writer in the Russia Doll Murder Case.

In the case, she was killed by the "Conductor", the culprit of this incident, but she quietly closed her corpse's eyes, and (although she was falsely accused) she was placed next to her. It seems that the Takato side did not treat him as a mere business partner, but had some feelings for her.

Giselle Tsukuyomi[]

She is Takato's younger half-sister. He first met her at the Rosenkreuz Mansion, although she had known earlier that Takato was her half-brother. He seems to care for his sister, and considers her his only clue to his roots.
